Shortages in power supplies because of the ever increasing global demand on energy reserves and natural resources are very real problems with industries worldwide having to contend with the effects of power rationing, consumption penalties and power outages.

Peterstow Aquapower can help transform the energy requirements of a typical operation by offering products which will significantly reduce energy consumption levels and consequently improve the environmental footprint and reduce operating costs.

Key to this is our closed-loop design. It means that less water is required to power our equipment compared to competing water hydraulic systems and this results in dramatic savings in consumption and wastage. Less wastage means less flooding and this in turn means that underground pumping facilities can be reduced.

Fewer pumps and a less dominant need for certain infrastructure such as compressors and air reticulation columns, result in immediate savings in capital costs but, more importantly, these changes allow for lower operating costs year after year through reduced electricity consumption. Typical savings will depend on a number of factors and will differ from operation to operation depending on the extent to which this new system is implemented.

However, by installing Peterstow machines, the potential exists to reduce electricity consumption levels by 20% and in some cases even more. Such a dramatic reduction has a major impact on overall efficiency and offers the prospect of being able to extend the profitable lives of many existing mines.
